Naturalistic elements such as flowers, plants and trees are highly popular designs in Iznik ceramic art. Olive and fruit trees and poppy’s have been pervasive decorative elements in Iznik pottery that became popular in the third quarter of the Sixteenth centuries. This was the culmination period of Iznik tiles and ceramics. Iznik Tiles and Ceramics offers a wide variety of floral design tiles. The naturalistic floral repertoire, called sukufe in Turkish, came to predominate with a color scheme based on the combination of bright tomato red and a fine emerald green.
